Stretch Wrap : LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene)


LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) is a type of PE (polyethylene plastic) which is a plastic that combines properties of both LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) and HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene).

Film Extrusion: A manufacturing process where melted plastic pellets are pushed through a shaped opening called die to create a thin, continuous sheet or tube of plastic film. 
The plastic cools down and solidifies into products like plastic bags, wraps, and packaging materials.

PE (Polyethylene): A common plastic material available in low and high densities and is used to make products like plastic bags, bottles, and packaging films. It's known for being flexible, durable, and water-resistant.

LLDPE combines 
  • Characteristics from HDPE and LDPE 
  • More flexible than HDPE (milk jugs)
  • Stronger than LDPE (shopping bags)
  • Better for products that need material that can stretch
Given the above characteristics, it is often used in application that need both strength and flexibility
